Bharat Biotech International Limited launched its flagship product, Revac-B, Recombinant vaccine for Hepatitis-B in 1998 using the HIMAX technology developed through in-house R&D. This process eliminates ultra centrifugation and the use of toxic metals while increasing the recovery of antigenic protein to levels highest in the world. Revac–B thus became the world's first Recombinant Hepatitis-B vaccine to be manufactured without the use of Cesium Chloride.
